The Hobbies started life as five friends getting together and playing a few songs.

After only a few practice sessions, it became apparent that what we considered to be a hobby, in fact became The Hobbies.

We are a five piece band formed in the North-East in January 2007 comprising of Drums, Bass, Guitar and Keyboards.

The driving sound of these is one of the best musical forms around.

Kevin Leonard - Lead Guitarist / Vocals - Kevin was one of the first band members and the most experienced. Having been in bands previously, Kev has the knowledge needed to drive the band forward and give it direction. An excellent guitarist taking lead in most songs.

Mark Leonard - Lead Guitarist / Vocals - A late addition to the band. Mark joined the band after our lead guitarist left. Mark has played in bands before but has not played for a few years so was a bit rusty. Mark has moved on dramatically in the few months he has been with us and now enjoys taking the lead in some songs.

Kevin McCarthy - Keyboard Player / Lead Singer -  Having never been in a band before Kevin is the bands front man who leads the band from song to song. His keyboard playing skills are also put to the test during some songs. He enjoys singing with the band and entertaining an audience.

Andy Mathwin - Drummer / Vocals - Andy had never been in a band before and his drumming skills have come very far in the few months the band has been together. Andy is very confident in playing and has now taken on the roll of backing singer and also lead singer for some songs.

Steve Mathwin - Bass Player / Vocals - Steve is the driving force on the band. The bass provides the foundation of the music and Steve delivers this. He has also recently taken to vocals within the band and sings some songs within the band.
